William Joseph Laggy

William Joseph Laggy, 86, of Middletown, NJ, died on May 11, 2017 at Riverview Medical Center in Red Bank. He was born in Orange, NJ on August 21, 1930 and was raised in Irvington. He graduated Irvington High School in 1948. William then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi for 4 years as a Radar Electronics Instructor both before and during the Korean War. While stationed in Mississippi he met and married his wife May C. Laggy, which lasted over 53 years until her death in July 2004. Upon his discharge from the Air Force in 1952, William went to work as a Technical assistant at Bell Telephone Laboratories in Murry Hill, NJ. While working at Bell Telephone Laboratories he attended Newark College of Engineering (now called NJ Institute of Technology) at night to obtain both a BS and MS degree in Electrical Engineering. William retired in 1989 as a distinguished member of the Technical staff from Bell Telephone Laboratories. He resided in Middletown since 1962.

Surviving are his daughter, Julie Dosil of Middletown, NJ; grandchildren, David M. Dosil Jr., and Lauren DosilWilliam was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Harriet Laggy; brothers, Louis Jr., and Robert L. Laggy, and his wife, Mae C. Laggy.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday May 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at Fairview Cemetery, Middletown.
